3 Things.

header_3_things

We want to make sure that we start with the Gospel in all that we do. Everything must be motivated by it. How we live as a church is directly linked to what or who we are.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."(ESV)

As believers in Jesus, our new identity is found in Jesus Christ and how we live out our lives now will be different than if we lived for ourselves.

This led us to launch the BASICS series in order to be clear about our IDENTITIES and RHYTHMS.

At Converge, we don't think we've got it all together by any stretch of the imagination, and there are many other variations and methods for programming as there are churches and leaders for them, but we've chosen three main things that we will be about as we move forward so we can mature as DISCIPLES of Jesus Christ, grow in our identity as a FAMILY of GOSPEL-BRINGING SERVANTS seeking to live out the everyday Rhythms of life with Gospel Intentionality (Story-Formed, Listen, Celebrate, Bless, Eat & ReCreate). They are:

Family Gatherings

When our Gospel Communities "converge" together, we call it a Gathering. Much like a family reunion, we celebrate evidences of God's grace on our lives, worship God through song and giving, get equipped with the Gospel (adults and kids), and are led to the cross and united through Communion. This happens on Sunday mornings and at other seasonal events and celebrations.

Gospel Communities

Gospel Communities, the life of our church, are smaller versions of the church regularly meeting in homes and sharing life together throughout the week pursuing the specific mission God has called each GC to. Speaking the truth in love, we grow up in Christ together and by God's grace, care for the needs in our GC and the needs in our city.

Fight Clubs

Women's or Men's Fight Clubs are small groups of 3 or 4 where fighting for knowing the Gospel is key. Here is where we identify sin, fight sin & trust our Saviour. Here we disciple, nuture and hold each other accountable.

Serving opportunities exist at each place whether it be in hospitality, volunteering in Converge Kids on Sundays, helping to organize a Sacred Space (serve the City) event, or simply making coffee or bringing food.

Contact Pastor Mark Myles if you need help getting connected into any of these.
