I'm New Here
To give you a picture of what Converge Church looks like in a typical week, here are some answers to frequently asked questions.
WHERE DO YOU MEET? During the week, we gather in various Gospel Communities in homes all over the city.
On Sundays, we gather in the upstairs lounge at the Campbell River Community Centre (except for the last Sunday of every month). It provides a well-maintained facility and an easily recognizable location for everyone. We're still growing, so we have no need for a leased or owned building. The church is not a building anyway, the church is the people.
WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL SUNDAY LIKE? Our Sunday gatherings are like family reunions for us. Some of us start setting up at 9:30am for our gathering to start at 10:30am. We usually begin with a couple of songs prior to providing a space for our children to enjoy their time. After the sermon and dialogue, we welcome the children to join their parents during the time of reflection and response (giving, communion and songs).
Families eat together, so we usually have enough food to go around afterwards as we visit and feast together before we clean up and pack up.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR CHILDCARE? We have a special room for kids 2 up to Gr 4 that is led by some volunteers where they can play and learn about the Bible in a more tactile environment.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS? Most of us dress in a casual and comfortable style. You’ll notice some folks who tend to dress up for church and others who don’t. Feel free to wear what’s comfortable for you, and you’ll fit right in.
HOW CAN I GET CONNECTED? The best way to get connected is to find a Gospel Community. You'll soon find out that our people are more than willing to welcome you into our family.
HOW CAN I GET IN TOUCH WITH A PASTOR? The best way to connect with Pastor Mark Myles is by email. You can also connect with him on Twitter or Facebook.
